Just back from Blackhat and DEFCON in Las Vegas. The conferences seemed a bit less useful than in the past. Many of the talks started with so much buildup that many in the audience were asleep before the primary information was given. There were a few good briefs. The Wireless Driver exploitation talk was ok, although little information was given. There were also some good talks about Freebsd jails and the failures of HIPS systems. The drinking after the conference ended for the day was right on par though.
