It appears that several old movie series are preparing to come out with new movies. Now I love Star Trek and I love Highlander but it seems that both of these series have died off. The most recent movies and shows in both have been far lower quality than the initial movies. While I hope that bringing fresh talent and new ideas can revive the series, it is also quite possible they will end up killing off any following they still have. The new Highlander film, Highlander - The Source , is supposed to be about a group of immortals searching for the holy grail of "their world". Some have hypothesized that this means a flashback to the second movie where we find out they are aliens beamed to Earth. Most agree that it is just poor wording for the description. Sounds like we might get to see the origin of the immortals though. The new Star Trek movie will also be a flashback. We will get to see our old friends Kirk and Spock during their academy days. This idea of flashbacks being great sequels is starting to become a bothersome trend.
