As a result of the Eolas lawsuit against Microsoft, the next version of Internet Explorer will have some changes in the way web sites can interface with your browser. Eolas has a patent on how external objects can interface with your web browser. This applies specifically to the APPLET, EMBED, and OBJECT tag types in HTML. Microsoft's fix for this is to have the tags, but require some sort of user interaction to activate them. For playing music and such the controls can start immediately but for interactive capability you will first need to click on the control and then do what you wish with it. A bit of a pain, but it might actually help increase security slightly.
